Manage Users Synced with Rippling.

When your Airbase and Rippling accounts are synced, you can choose to sync the Rippling Users with Airbase.

In your Airbase account, you can have both linked and unlinked Users with Rippling.

When a new employee is created in Rippling and added to the Airbase app,

• If the employee does not have an Airbase account already, a User profile will be created with the first name, last name, email address, manager, and Department.
• If the employee has an Airbase account, a connection will be established with both the accounts. However, if any of the details don’t match, like the first name, last name, etc., the information in Rippling will override that in Airbase.

The list of all the Airbase Users, including the ones synced with Rippling, can be found on the People > Users page.

Users synced with Rippling will have the Rippling icon next to their names.

For linked Users, their first name, last name, manager, and department can be modified only on Rippling. However, you can update their Role and Accounting Policy in Airbase.

Unlink Users.

To manage an Airbase Users in Airbase alone, you can unlink the User.

• Go to People > Users.
• Find the User and hover over their name.
• Click on the three dots.
• Click Unlink from Rippling.
• Click Unlink to confirm.

Users synced with Rippling will have the Rippling icon next to their names.

For linked Users, their first name, last name, manager, and department can only be modified in Rippling. However, you can update their Role and Accounting Policy in Airbase.

Unlink Users.

To manage Rippling Users in Airbase, you first need to unlink the User.

• Go to People > Users.
• Find the User and hover over their name.
• Click on the three dots.
• Click Unlink from Rippling.
• Click Unlink to confirm.

Once unlinked, the User can be managed like other unlinked Airbase Users.

You can resync the User with Rippling from your Rippling account. However, Rippling will override the changes made in Airbase.

Delete Users.

The Users linked with Rippling cannot be deleted in Airbase.

To manually delete, you need to unlink the User first and then delete them from Airbase.

When an Airbase user is deleted from Rippling, the User will be removed from Airbase, and Airbase admins will be notified via email.
However, the user will not be removed from Airbase if:

• User owns an Airbase Physical Card.
• User has a pending payment.
• User has requested a Virtual Card.
• User is an Approver in one or more Approval Policies.
• User is assigned as a Manager to other Users.
• User is the only Airbase Administrator in your organization.

In this case, the User will be unlinked from Rippling and Airbase admins will be notified via email.
